Arby’s Beef ‘n Cheddar

For as long as I can remember, my mom has taken us to Arby’s.  Her go to sandwich was always the Beef N Cheddar.   So when I came across this recipe, I was stoked that maybe I can recreate this for her without having to break the bank every time, LOL.   The recipe that I originally found was not intirely accurate when it came to making the famous Arby’s sauce, but was tweakable.   So tweaking I did and did come up with something  very close. I will still be working on perfecting it, but so far this is pretty darn close and everyone who tried them had no complaints at all.So please enjoy!!   Maybe even surprise that special someone in their lunch!!

  • 8 ounces thinly sliced roast beef
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tblsp water
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/8 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon Tabasco
  • 1/2 tblsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tblsp Worcestershire
  • 2 onion buns, split in half and toasted
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1 tablespoon milk

  1. Add the roast beef to a skillet set over medium heat. Cover the skillet and turn the heat to low and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the roast beef is hot.
  2. Meanwhile, add the ketchup, water, salt, onion powder, paprika, Tabasco, vinegar, and Worcestershire  to a small bowl and mix until smooth.
  3. In a small dish, melt the American cheese and milk in the microwave on low for 20 seconds, stirring until smooth.
  4. To assemble the sandwiches, spread a thin layer of the sauce on both halves of each bun, arrange the meat on the bottom bun, drizzle with cheese sauce, add the top bun, and serve immediately.
